Flower Festival

“A Festival of Flowers – Sixty Years of Colour”
15th – 17th June 2018

In this, our 60th year, Shrewsbury Flower Club  celebrated its Diamond Anniversary with a Festival of Colours in Shrewsbury Abbey. The Abbey was dressed to the nines with wonderful floral displays by our Club members and opened its doors to the public on Friday, 15th June 2018

Severn Recorders played during the morning and through lunch followed by the Church Service at 2 o’clock with Revd. Stephanie Fahie.  At 3:30 pm we all repaired to the Lord Hill Hotel for Afternoon Tea.

The inaugural meeting of the Club happened on 27th November 1958 with 175 people in attendance. Percy Thrower was our first president and so we were delighted to welcome Margaret Thrower as our guest speaker at the Afternoon Tea.

The Abbey remained open on  Saturday, 16th and Sunday, 17th so everyone could enjoy the hard work and share our celebration of Sixty Years of Colour
